If you haven't heard about the Trevor Noah/ CellC Scandal - where have you been? under a rock?
{update} So the verdict is that CellC and Trevor Noah are working together, and his rant about the lack of cellphone reception with CellC was all part of a devious yet brilliant marketing plan...@cellc on twitter: "Welcome @TrevorNoah as the new Consumer Experience Officer (CEO) of #CellC"... Consumers are invited to 'Tell Trevor' and "become part of the journey" - whatever that means...
Oh they have a new logo btw visit @cellc on twitter for more...
His hilarious rant against the brand was first seen on YouTube Wednesday last week -
and just a few days later the Sunday Times featured this advert, a message directly to the man. The ad was an apology letter directed at Trevor from Cell C’s CEO Lars Reichelt. In the letter Reichelt addressed Trevor’s Facebook/ YouTube criticism of Cell C for dropping calls and generally being awful .... a #brandfail some consumers reckon - strategic excellence for others...
My opinion ?I like! :) I'm a PR gal - and this is spin-doctoring at its best.... Cell C personally address Noah in this humour advert (this ad would cost +-R200 000) without ever addressing his actual concerns, but immediately spin-doctoring with other "achievements"... distractionary plow for sure.. but I think its pretty clever... What do you think?
